Barrie Information

Barrie is a lively and attractive city with excellent swimming beaches and challenging ski opportunities. With over three hundred hectares of parkland scattered throughout the city, there are numerous opportunities to get out and enjoy nature. Many of these parks are on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay, with extensive biking, roller blading and walking trails. In 1997, a $120 million health care facility was built next to Georgian College. The City is home to a 40,000 sq. ft. public library, located downtown at the junction of Worsley and Owen Street. Alongside usual library services, the library also offers free Internet access to patrons, plus a wide variety of adult and children’s programs.
